Famicom Rocky is basically Rocky the movie, but with old NES-era video games. The series stars an ineloquent brute of a protagonist who has long, extensive training montages so that he can dramatically compete against vaguely imposing rivals who, for narrative purposes, are deluded into thinking they're better at video games than him.
Naofumi Iwatani is a 20-year-old otaku who finds himself inexplicably transported to the kingdom of Melromarc. Alongside three other summoned individuals, Naofumi discovers that he's a Cardinal Hero, tasked with defeating the dangerous "Waves of Catastrophe." Struggling to find allies, Naofumi purchases the help of a demi-human slave girl named Raphtalia. Together, they embark on a dangerous quest for justice and revenge, encountering the mysteries of the kingdom along the way.
The plot centers on the matrimony of a newly-employed anime enthusiast and his pregnant partner.
