To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Louvre's comic collection, a series of international exhibitions has been scheduled. The Taipei MoNTUE Museum, followed by the Tainan Cultural Center, inaugurated the Taiwanese part of this major retrospective by exhibiting more than two hundred original plates, preparatory drawings and video installations. Then, between August 2016 and September 2017, the exhibition follows a traveling tour through Japan, starting with the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo. At each stage of the exhibition, Taiwanese and then Japanese artists were invited to participate in this project. It is their work that we reproduce here. From Kirei Cake: Various short 4koma scenes about five girls, Shinobu, Alice, Karen, Youko, and Aya, all attending the same school together. The main idea behind all of the scenes are that the two English girls, Alice and Karen (Alice is pure English, while Karen is half-English, half-Japanese), are trying to live in Japan and are trying to learn their culture and language! "I made wonderful friends!"

In the heart of Tokyo's Asakusa district lies the Ayakashi-sou mansion, named after the supernatural beings that reside within its walls. Despite being occupied by a single sixteen-year-old girl, the mansion is inhabited by two ayakashi - the mischievous fox girl Kuuko and the gentle snow-woman Yukime. The young Zashikiwarashi Kii is responsible for maintaining the mansion, while a newly created cat youkai named Nene joins the group when she has nowhere else to go. Mahoro Miyatsuka, the owner of the mansion, possesses a unique ability to perceive and communicate with ayakashi. Although her peers tend to avoid her due to her supernatural abilities, Mahoro finds solace in spending time with her ghostly companions.
