In Muv-Luv Alternative, Takeru awakens from a three-year long slumber to find himself back in his own quarters, where he had been at the end of Muv-Luv Unlimited. Initially believing it to be a mere dream, he soon feels uneasy and decides to venture outside. It dawns on him that he has been transported back to the start of Unlimited's events. In order to fight back against Alternative V and save humanity, he joins forces with Professor Kouzuki to complete Alternative IV and prevent the impending doom.
